Fluorescent Tubes

Standard fluorescent tubes use a Halophosphate coating which is less expensive to produce and is therefore a consideration when a low initial cost is the most important factor. However, more tubes are now sold with a Triphosphur coating, which provides a higher quality colour rendering, enhanced lamp life and therefore significant energy savings.

There are 3 main sizes of fluorescent tube:-

  • T5 (16mm diameter)
  • T8 (25mm diameter)
  • T12 (38mm diameter)
